Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Yıldız Holding’s basketball team, the CBL Istanbul and CBL Turkey Champion, has now extended its achievements beyond Turkey. Competing in Belgrade from October 24-28, the Stars of the Court emerged victorious at the first-ever International Basketball Corporate Cup.

Following its victory in this season’s Turkish Corporate Basketball League (CBL), Yıldız Holding’s Basketball Team brought its winning momentum to the international arena, securing its third championship during its 10th anniversary year. The team claimed the title in Belgrade at the inaugural International Basketball Corporate Cup.

Held in Serbia’s capital, Belgrade, from October 24-28, the tournament featured fierce competition among 12 teams. Stars of the Court continued their dominant performance, culminating in a final showdown against Ankara’s TUSAŞ. After a closely contested match, Yıldız Holding’s Basketball Team emerged as European champions.  

The team completed the tournament undefeated, with several players standing out for their individual achievements. Yasin Canberk Uzunkaya was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the final, while Sinan Mete Taygan took the title of Top Scorer. Abdurrahman Aksu not only claimed the Assists Leader title but was also awarded MVP of the entire tournament. Head Coach Serkan Aslıyüce was honored as the Best Coach of the tournament.

Head Coach and pladis Turkey Finance Leader Serkan Aslıyüce reflected on the team’s European Championship victory, emphasizing the dedication and determination behind their sustained success: “2024 has truly been a dream year for our team. After claiming the CBL Istanbul and CBL Turkey championships, we proudly added the European title to our collection, achieving every trophy we set out to win. Ten years ago, we envisioned winning an international championship, and today, we take immense pride in realizing that dream. One could write pages about this achievement, but if I were to capture it in a single word, that word would be 'Commitment.' Looking ahead, our goal is to uphold this high standard and pass on this legacy to future generations.”

Team Captain and E-Star Global General Manager, Sadem Pehlivan, expressed his thoughts on the team’s remarkable triple championship success this season: “Reaching this milestone, 10 years after our founding, fills us with immense pride and joy, as we find ourselves exactly where we’ve always dreamed of being. This victory was not only a result of our on-court performance, but also of the unity and teamwork we've cultivated. What makes this victory even more meaningful is that it aligns with the 101st anniversary of our Republic. We celebrated in Belgrade, proudly waving our flag as we accepted the cup from the Turkish Ambassador to Belgrade, Hami Aksoy. May this victory be a celebration for everyone.”
