Yıldız Holding Calls for Equal Opportunity at UN Event in New York

Yıldız Holding's pioneering efforts in promoting equal opportunity and inclusivity, along with its leadership in this area, have been highlighted at the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit held in New York.
The company's focus on inclusivity and equal opportunity was showcased during the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit, the foremost global initiative for sustainability uniting the private sector and thought leaders under the auspices of the United Nations. At the summit held on September 24 in New York, Yıldız Holding, as a signatory of the UN Global Compact, was represented by Begüm Mutuş, the General Manager of Global Public Relations and Ambassador of the Women's Platform. The event featured discussions on Yıldız Holding's inspiring initiatives centered on equal opportunity, as well as the contribution of the business world toward achieving the 2030 goals set forth under the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
During the panel titled “Designing Gender Equality: Practical Tools to Achieve Equality Goals,” held as part of the Leaders Summit, Mutuş remarked, “The Yıldız Holding Women’s Platform has emerged as a transformative role model in the business world, driven by its commitment to equal opportunity. In this very meeting, we are deeply pleased to stand as the driving force behind a transformative movement that opens new opportunities for women in both the economic and social arenas, creating substantial economic value for them.
“We urge world leaders to take decisive action in advancing equal opportunity.”
Mutuş noted that the roadmap created by the Women’s Platform, launched in alignment with Yıldız Holding's global values of equal opportunity and inclusivity, is being followed by numerous companies, with the aim of all impact programs being to facilitate women's participation in the economy. She then continued:
“The world can no longer afford to overlook the talents of half of humanity. Despite women owning over one-third of global companies, these enterprises face significant barriers in accessing the global procurement market. We assert that a sustainable future is achievable only through the active participation of women in the global workforce and economy. Supporting women entrepreneurs and integrating women into the value chain represent critical avenues for enhancing women's economic participation. Since 2022, we have been strategic partners of the UN Women Entrepreneurship Accelerator (WEA) program, implementing long-term initiatives to promote women entrepreneurship across all our companies. Our participation in this significant summit seeks to inspire other organizations through our socially impactful efforts under the Women’s Platform and to urge world leaders to take decisive action in advancing equal opportunity.”

Begüm Mutuş also shared insights from the initiatives undertaken by the Yıldız Holding Women’s Platform with executives from global companies interested in developing projects focused on equal opportunity.
Emphasizing the importance of cultivating a culture of inclusivity and diversity among all employees, Mutuş addressed the critical role of senior leadership in the commitment and execution of equal opportunity initiatives. She stressed the necessity for this culture to be made permanent, resilient, and sustainable, independent of individual involvement.
